Sundays Office

May 20, 2018

I came back to Oslo yesterday night and today I spend either on the balcony or right here, trying to catch up with everything work related. And as always, being the great blogger that I am, it took me all day to decide if I was even making a blogpost today, which I am at 23:45. Makes you wonder why I just dont post it tomorrow? Well there is this nagging feeling that I really need to be posting more, even though editorial quality content is hard to make in everyday basis, but then again..not everyday needs to be editorial right? So I hope you will forgive the occasional rumblings like this one, the one photo posts like this one (but a very real one, as what you dont see is me on the edge of the sofa with my macbook), the “I really have so much to say but I just dont have the time to write the words” like this one. I will gather my thoughts and most definitely come back with a clearer mind and more comprehensive posts, but for today, some people have said things better than me, if you find something interesting, do click on!

  1.  GDPR & What It Means For Bloggers, whether you are in EU or not, here are some short and easy guidelines for the new rules of the General Data Protection Regulation (especially if you have newsletter etc)
  2. 4 Things bloggers need to know for the industry to survive , including oversaturation of ads on social media and how this is detrimental for bloggers.
  3. A letter from Holly , I dont agree with everything in this letter from Holly but she does ask some of the right questions, are bloggers truthful with their advertising, as a blogger do you still connect with your fellow bloggers like before, and more.
  4. Frida from Trendenser is wondering if she is lost in her vision and where her blog is going (something I have been wondering a lot as well). Turn auto translation on, its in Swedish but worth a read!

Aesop Deodorant love

May 14, 2018

A few weeks ago I received the newsletter about the new Aesop Deodorant, and as all new Aesop things go, I was really curious to try it. The smell is very familiar , most Aesop scents have a relaxed friendliness aura, you know what I mean if you have ever visited one of the stores. Whether you want to smell like Aesop in your armpits that is up to you, I have been using it so much however that I now need a new bottle. In the photo above you can also see some of my favorites from Aesop when it comes to everyday use. The Lucent Facial concentrate, helps even and brighten skin tone. Thanks to Vitamin C that helps reduce pigmentation, and niacinamide that fights age spots and unifies skin tone, you can expect a brighter skin tone and smoother texture with regular use. A smoother texture will ensure light bounces off your skin evenly to give it that natural, healthy glow. Just pop into an Aesop store and ask for a sample they will be happy to demonstrate and give you a few days of worth of samples too, it will change your skin, I personally love it. Another favorite of mine, the Rejuvenate Intensive Body Balm ( sitting on the marble grey plate ), although it is supposed to be for the body I mostly use it for my hands. They are part of the body right? It absorbs quickly and moisturizes thoroughly while the texture of this balm is thick, but when applied to the skin it soothes without leaving a greasy finish. It also smells absolutely amazing, the scent profile is Tangerine Rind, Vanille and Sandalwood The aromatic oils are very soothing, and also penetrate deeply to relax the muscles. Use it for your feet, calves, just try it before bed and you will thank me 😉

My favorite brass details

May 11, 2018

Last few months I think you might have noticed I am loving nickel coated and silver surfaces, but you will also notice that my love for brass is still going strong, even though it is not as pronounced as last year. Key pieces here and there will make a difference, I tend to have one thing here , one thing there.. I think the color pops out more like this and it creates a subtle statement. Today I am sharing a few of my favorites, some new, some old! Lets dig in!

A new addition to my collection ( photo above ) the handmade brass candleholder called Moon Candleholder by Mleko Living. Beautiful shape and quite unique, I love how it looks on my windowsill. Mleko Living also have beautiful ceramics ( remember the carafe from the previous blogpost on my marble plinth table?  That is also from Mleko  and you can find it here). A glimpse also in the photo above of the Ferm Living candle extinguisher in brass, yes you can just blow the candle, but why not extinguish the flame in style if you can?

Another favorite of mine, something that I use all the time in fact, the brass tray ( the Edge Plate in small as seen above)  from Skagerak . Designed by Stilleben in Denmark , this tray is so very versatile, use it as a tray for plants, inside or outside, use it as a tray for small or bigger things, use it to carry things ( on the larger size), you will love it either way. I think I might have 5 or 6 of them in various sizes, it is like an amazing t shirt that you buy in every color because it fits you so amazingly! I also posted this photo on my instagram ( check it out here) if you are looking for a tip to clean your brass items, they will look like new trust me 😉

Simple and clean, the water bottle/carafe from Menu is beautiful on its own, without water, but of course I do use it as intended 😉 The only problem is now I also want the glasses that go with..

Hiding a little bit behind the  beautiful Menu TR Bulb Table lamp, a purchase from almost two years ago now that is still on top of my favorite list. The incense burner Circa by Cinnamon Projects. If you do not know about Cinnamon Projects, then I suggest you visit their page regardless, from fragrances to incenses, even if you do not like to burn them, their collection is so beautiful, you will want one regardless. For the record my favorite one to burn is the 8pm

Yet another from Menu, this time the brass is only on the edge of the marble mirror Pepe. I chose the white one when I got it since I painted everything in my bedroom beige, even the windows, but it comes in quite big variety of marbles, always however, with the brass ring accentuating the design and the marble.

Small but it draws the eye, the brass spoon Fein in small ( comes in bigger sizes as well and it is part of the collection Fein that can be seen as a whole here). My only problem is that I only have 2 of each, I need to fix that!

Old but always on the spotlight, the brass bonbonniere Peak ( here in large), from Stelton. I store everything from candy to USB wires in it, or even used tea lights, depending on where I place it. Handy with stunning design!

And last but not least ( as seen on the photo below), the brass shelf Reflect. The series also comes with beautiful brass hooks ( as seen in my Bedroom Renovation reveal post) that I use when I want to hang anything that is handy in the bedroom ( usually my speaker or robe).

These are few of my  brass favorites, if you have any you would like to share, just leave a comment below, I d love to see what you use everyday and what you love having around!

My bedroom pendant and a recent living room addition

May 6, 2018

Advertisement // Sponsored post in collaboration with Pholc.

For a while now, one of the most frequent questions I receive is about the beautiful pendant that is hanging above my bed (photo below). I first saw the Mobil 100 pendant by Pholc a few months ago while strolling around Stockholm. I didn’t buy it then because I wouldn’t have been able to carry it with me in flight, but I made a mental note on checking up on it as soon as I returned back to Oslo. I found the company that makes them ( Pholc ) and I found that in fact they were quite affordable for such a great quality and such a size for a pendant, but unfortunately back then they were not easy to find in Norway. Fast forward a few months later and Pholc is fully represented in Norway ( you can find most of the collection in one of my favourite stores Hviit ), if you were thinking of buying it, now you can easily do so! My bedroom pendant comes in different sizes ( with either 5 arms or 3 arms) as well as 3 different finishes ( black, nickel coated and brass). In the same line you can also find a wall lamp and table lamp, all in different finishes too.

However, while Pholc is now quite well known for their very recognisable pendants, they also have other notable designs that follow the same values, build to last with great materials , beautiful Swedish design, all the while keeping their price range budget friendly and affordable. As seen in the photos above, their wall lamp Bellman is  a great fit next to my couch, and as it swivels left and right it is also quite customisable. In fact I just put it up today and I very much like how the corner looks like. The photos are taken without turning it at all, so you can see how it looks from completely different angles without touching it. I really like how it creates interesting views from all sides!

Pholc, even though is a relatively young company, already has some great designs to showcase, and as you can see, I am already a big fan, for a long time now. You can check their whole range here, but also , you can check the blog for updates, these will not be the only Pholc that will find themselves in my space (I am looking at you Spinn Pendant and Pearls 65).
