Stockholm : Mornington My Home away from home

February 13, 2017

Tomorrow I will be finishing up the post with photos of the news I shot while at the Furniture and Light fair, but today I thought it would be a good idea to show off the beautiful premises of Mornington hotel in Stockholm, my home away from home for the week.

Located in Nybrogatan 53 , close to the metro station and just a few minutes away from the best restaurants, cafes and shopping in the city, Mornington offers not only great location and service but also multiple newly renovated rooms to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Do ask for a room at the second floor for a similar look to mine, the stuff will do their best to accommodate you! This is my second time in Stockholm and the second time I have stayed at Mornington ( you can find the previous post  here). This time around due to visiting in winter, my photos turned up a little moodier, a little darker, but at the same time I think they convey my mood better.

Due to being extremely busy while in Stockholm, I did not spend as much time as I would have liked to in the room, however I still found time to enjoy a warm coffee by the window while answering emails early in the morning before going down for breakfast. It is these moments that I feel make for a good start of a day, no matter how busy!

Mornington Hotel in Stockholm

December 14, 2016

During my last stay in Stockholm a little while ago I had the pleasure of staying at the Mornington hotel in the heart of the city. Just a stone throw away from the metro station and a few minutes walking distance from an array of shops and restaurants, with its beautiful mellow style, brass, marble and its welcoming feeling, Mornington is a great place to stay while in Stockholm.

The hotel has a restaurant that is divided in different spaces with different design approaches. In the morning breakfast is served between the areas that stretch all the way to the lobby to enjoy your meal with a cup of coffee, read a newspaper or even pick a book from one of the shelves.

The lobby is equipped with large sitting areas, comfortable couches but also a corner with Macbooks that are available for anyone to use. By the windows, old style leather seats with brass small tables make for a perfect spot for a quick coffee while waiting for a friend.

I stayed in one of the newly renovated suites with a separate bedroom and a living room. The bathroom as well was separated in two with two different entrances which makes sharing the room very comfortable. Furnished with Gubi designs, And Tradition lamps , a full wall of String solution shelves and a carefully curated selection of antiques, the room was much comfortable as sleek with its design.

The bedroom itself was separated by double doors from the living room, however both spaces have direct access to the big balcony with a great view. A small desk in the bedroom served as the perfect spot for the mornings when I needed a little bit of time to send emails and catch up with my work.
