I have been away from home for almost 2 weeks now, and while I thought I would have more free time to blog and keep you updated, I couldn’t have been more wrong on my original assessment. I flew to Stockholm for the Formex design fair, and I am currently in Oslo for press launches, meetings and the Oslo Design fair on the 1st. On the 2nd I am flying to Paris for Maison et Objet, I am so looking forward to it! As soon as I landed in Oslo I checked in Comfort Karl Johan hotel, one of the nicest hotels I have had the pleasure of staying as of late.
The hotel itself is very new, grand opening was only a couple of months ago, it is fully renovated and it is situated the middle of one of the busiest shopping streets in Oslo, Karl Johan Gate. Aesop store is right around the corner, while I also spotted Burberrys and Bottega Veneta a few steps away.
I was so happy with my room , from the great big windows and the view, to the little surprises of the linen bed throw and the classic collection of Bruce Springsteen’s vinyl records that I played while drawing and enjoying a bath in the most spectacular bathroom I have seen in a hotel. Even though I hardly had to leave my room, the hotel itself does not disappoint. Downstairs the breakfast bar is held under a big skylight while the bar is in my opinion the best place to sit and relax. During summer or warmer days, there are two different outside yards with tables and chairs to sit and enjoy the sun, while the restaurant will also extend its service there.
Overall I was sad when I had to check out, so I will be definitely coming back next time, hopefully at the same room. Ask for room 246 if you are looking to stay at the exact same room, the bathroom alone is worth it.
