Nordiska Kök Wooden new Kitchen designs

February 16, 2019

Nordiska Kök , or in English Nordic Kitchens, have so much strong roots in Nordic design that even the name of the company couldn’t but reflect that. Kitchens to live in, unique and tailor-made to suit everyones life, today and tomorrow. All their kitchens are built to be timeless and last for years, and to leave the lightest possible footprint on world resources. Locally produced in their carpentry workshop near Gothenburg, Nordiska Kök kitchens are built entirely from scratch based on customer needs and wishes. This means that you not only get a kitchen you can live in and enjoy for a long time, but also a kitchen based on your very own choices. I particularly like their wooden choices, although all their designs are quite beautiful. Not as expensive as you might think either for a completely bespoke kitchen with all appliances included. One of my favorites I am showing today below, although funnily enough I might have gone for something lighter in color, though I would definitely keep the design!

Ferm Living SS19

January 16, 2019

If you have already seen the SS19 collection from Ferm Living then feel free to not scroll below, but if you haven’t , todays post is a real treat. I am not going to lie, at this point I could almost 100% furnish my home only shopping from Ferm Living. From the living room to the kitchen to the bathroom, it is unreal how many great pieces are there and every season there is more to want. It is really hard for me because I dont want and frankly I dont have the budget to just completely change my home decoration and furniture every season, it is not sustainable either, but there are some pieces I can see myself having for years to come and I will be investing in them for sure. Scroll below to see all the news, personal favorites are the new Rico sofa and armchair, along with marble details , the new Ripple carafe in smokey glass and the Black Place bench (all these I need in my life like I need water it feels)!

Sticks N’Sushi restaurant by Norm Architects

January 13, 2019

As if there aren’t good enough reasons to visit London for the weekend, the Sticks ‘n’ Sushi restaurant in London designed by Norm Architects is making me seriously want to book a ticket. Located on King’s Road in the heart of chic and high-end Chelsea, Norm designed a richly textured space where Scandinavian and Japanese aesthetics meet through an emphasis on natural materials and an overall sense of contemporary luxury. Combine great design with great food and you see why I feel a visit is already long overdue. It doesn’t help that Sticks ‘n’ Sushi instagram account is mouthwatering ( find them here ).

I will mostly let the photos speak for themselves on this one although I will guide you slightly through the plan and the design. Materials chosen for the rooms reflect the moods set for the three floors. The idea is that the guests increasingly will get in touch with light as they walk vertically, so the lower ground floor and private dining area is kept in dark nuances and materials, with hops hanging from a feature grid ceiling in oak, inviting in nature as a sculptural element and softening up the space. Intimate and secluded, the lower ground floor is an atmospheric hideaway for parties to absorb the timeless elegance.

The ground floor and heart of the restaurant is a grounded, welcoming space; industrial and elegant, with subtle contrasts in the quality custom woodwork, Danish design classics, industrial elements, natural stone table top and bar in blackened steel.

Upon entering the ground floor of the restaurant, you’re drawn to the sculptural leather sofas, perfect for visitors paying the restaurant a brief visit, having cocktails or waiting for a table – perfectly placed by the windows to encourage interaction with the street life of Chelsea.

As you enter the 1st floor you’re met by a bright and sophisticated space, conveyed by the oak tabletops, chairs, partition panel walls and open plan of the floor. A combination that invites an intimate seating without losing the feeling of being in a lovely bustling environment. Light, transparent textiles divide the space and make up translucent, light-bearing elements when they’re lit up at night. The lantern-like, white lamps create an intimate space around the large marble table in the semi-private dining room. Carl Hansen chairs ac company the bespoke tables throughout the restaurant as a reference to the timeless Danish design heritage, quality woodwork and craftsmanship. Also the custom-made banquette seating embodies that soft feel, inviting guests to engage in the intimate settings.

Are you convinced yet? I certainly am!

Perspective Studios – Revisit

January 10, 2019

When Perspective Studios , a lifestyle store & design studio opened, I was lucky enough to be in Stockholm so I visited as soon as my schedule allowed.

Perspective Studios was founded by Robin Klang and Ejub Bicic. I met Robin the first time I was there, and we ended up chatting for a good two hours. The duo, both interested in design, fashion and art are a power to be reckoned with. They curate the store with handpicked details from around the world, but also create custom furniture, just drop by to see the whole collection and how it comes together, you will not regret it! With brands such as Apparatus, Mad et Len (I bought a candle last time), Cinnamon Projects (I also bought Circa, their Incense brass burner) etc.

The store is situated at Sankt Eriksplan 15, in the heart of Stockholm area Vasastan, in what used to be an old bank vault. You can always order online of course, but if you are in Stockholm I strongly suggest visiting. Not only you get to meet the dynamic duo, but also get to experience the ambiance of the space, how beautifully the store is curated , from furniture to the aroma of the space. If you cannot visit however, I have a special treat for you. Robin and Ejub taste in music is amazing, everytime I am in the store I fall in love with at least one of the songs playing, so I have asked Robin to share their most recent playlist on Spotify! Enjoy it here! Scroll below for photos from both their home and the store plus some of my favorite items!
