Perspective Studios – Revisit

January 10, 2019

When Perspective Studios , a lifestyle store & design studio opened, I was lucky enough to be in Stockholm so I visited as soon as my schedule allowed.

Perspective Studios was founded by Robin Klang and Ejub Bicic. I met Robin the first time I was there, and we ended up chatting for a good two hours. The duo, both interested in design, fashion and art are a power to be reckoned with. They curate the store with handpicked details from around the world, but also create custom furniture, just drop by to see the whole collection and how it comes together, you will not regret it! With brands such as Apparatus, Mad et Len (I bought a candle last time), Cinnamon Projects (I also bought Circa, their Incense brass burner) etc.

The store is situated at Sankt Eriksplan 15, in the heart of Stockholm area Vasastan, in what used to be an old bank vault. You can always order online of course, but if you are in Stockholm I strongly suggest visiting. Not only you get to meet the dynamic duo, but also get to experience the ambiance of the space, how beautifully the store is curated , from furniture to the aroma of the space. If you cannot visit however, I have a special treat for you. Robin and Ejub taste in music is amazing, everytime I am in the store I fall in love with at least one of the songs playing, so I have asked Robin to share their most recent playlist on Spotify! Enjoy it here! Scroll below for photos from both their home and the store plus some of my favorite items!

IKEA Livet Hemma Inspiration and a trick on how to achieve the looks

November 1, 2018

It is not the first time I turn to IKEA Livet Hemma for inspiration , in fact one of my most popular posts about Livet Hemma featuring what I think could be a full house, can be found here and the continuation of it here. I think the team of stylists and photographers the Swedish part of IKEA is putting on these small projects are brilliant, in the way they handle colours and combination of materials , that not only help see some of IKEA furniture in new light, but also they make you want to copy the whole set up. There is a a small trick to this process however that anyone can follow, and it’s not really hidden so everyone can take advantage of it. The clever thought behind is to combine IKEA products with either vintage or even high end brands. So feel free to use your vintage rug along with an IKEA sofa, dress it in Bemz covers, add a painting or a poster behind it, use those magazines on the sofa table as coasters, then add a high end lamp or a chair and there you have it. The formula is simple really, what makes however Livet Hemma special, s that the team provides inspiration for you and me, for free. It is one thing to say this is the formula, and another to start from scratch implementing it. But if you have a couple of stylings as inspiration to start , then it makes starting a project of your own quite manageable. Scroll to see a few photos I chose, that stand out to me from the collection of Livet Hemma, all from different posts, that I think make for good inspiration.

Enviable apartment in Gothenburg

October 26, 2018

As always I am getting inspiration from homes out for sale, but when I spotted this one at Stadshem I was quite taken aback with the similarities it bears with my previous apartment in Oslo (you can find photos here on a tour of my house) . From the placement of furniture, the shelves are the same only different color, the fireplace is at the same position, same windows, really the only major difference is that our kitchens and bedrooms are exchanged. However, this is how I would have renovated if I had stayed (it was up for sale, you can find the ad and more photos here), so this is so great to see, it is almost like I see what my own apartment would have looked like!  Either way, I would move in instantly in this apartment as well, and with the good competitive prices in Gothenburg it is really tempting!

Inspirational home of the week

October 23, 2018

Another apartment I would move in instantly , the home of Niklas and Jenny Jernström, founders of Swedish Studio Dom. The color tones and choices of furniture and details are stunning, another great work as come to expect by the Swedish duo Sundling & Kickén, who styled the space for a feature in Residence magazine. One of the most eye popping details the various designer lamps, among some of my favorites, Aggregato pendants by Enzo Mari for ArtemidePiani lamp by Flos and Double Bubble lamp by Eero Aarnio. I hope you enjoy this gem I am sharing today, I am getting so inspired by it!
