SFF Stockholm 2017 : Part 2

February 18, 2017

As promised today I am sharing Part 2 from my time at Stockholm’s Furniture and Light fair with some of the things that caught my eye (Check part 1 here).

At Louis Poulsen their vision is to create designs that forms light. To complement the environment with just the right light. Light which gives a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. The Panthella MINI (as seen above) is a smaller version of Verner Panton’s classic lamp from 1971, and I think it embodies that vision perfectly. As captured above, in a combination of black and white acrylic, both lamps emanate a soft light that hugs their environment in the softest way.

A few weeks ago I wrote about the news from &Tradition , I was looking forward to seeing some of the new designs and additions and I was not disappointed. Some of my favorites include the brand new In Between stools and the Working Title table lamp as seen above while I also spotted new sizes (below) for the very successful Fly series by Space Copenhagen : A new one seater and a taller sofa table.

One of the places I absolutely want to visit next time I am in Copenhagen (hopefully before 3 days of design in June) is the Frama headquarter and Studio Store, located in central Copenhagen in the historic and protected neighborhood of Nyboder. I stopped by their stand and was treated to the beautiful Frama world of hues and unique craftsmanship. Frama won this years award for Kitchen of the year at Elle Decoration Swedish awards, it is always so great to see more ideas come from the team and be able to experience their universe first hand.

I spend a long time at Muuto stand where I experienced first hand some of my favorites from the new designs :  The Outline chair by Anderssen & Voll , the new Ripple throw by Margrethe Odgaard and the beautiful new Workshop chair by Cecilie Manz (all news can be found here ). A seen above in an office styling setting, the Ambit lamps in new dusty blue color, the beautiful Fiber side chairs, and the Folded shelves on the wall in the background in olive color. Below something that has been on my wishlist, the Compile shelf system in grey (combination 2).

At Skagerak the new Hven series designed by Swedish Anton Björsing were the center of attention and rightfully so. The armchairs and tables are designed to make you invite your family and friends over a little more often. Build with high comfort, a light and simple expression and from FSC-certified wood, Hven is a long-term minded series with regard to aesthetics, functionality and environment.

Last but not least at the press brunch at Gubi, we were treated with some of this seasons exciting news. most notable the new upholsteries for the Beetle Dining chairs (as seen above) and the new Pedrera  Ana Pendant Lamp Black, created as a tribute by Ruiz Millet to the designer of the original Pedrera lamps (as seen below).
