Winter Sunday : A day in an interior bloggers life, sunday thoughts and conversations.

December 11, 2016

Some shots that describe how I spend a normal Sunday during winter (when I get to spend it at home). My day starts of course in bed, I will light a candle or my side table lamp until there is daylight coming from the windows ( not before 9 in the morning during December in Norway) and relax with a cup of tea while I go through Instagram or emails and arrange my week to come. It is also a good time to read up with magazines I haven’t gone through, check my favorite blogs and generally catch up with anything that I missed during the week. It is not possible to clear all my to do list but I have come to terms with that long time ago. Nightstand essentials as can be partially seen above : A bluetooth speaker for impromptu music ( the Libratone Copenhagen mini in blue wool cover). Stelton brass bonbonniere to house all small things such as headphones , charger etc, this one in large size. My very old ipad mini ( I don’t use it for anything else other than to watch a movie before sleeping ) can be seen standing up behind the sheets, while my new Kindle paperwhite is also always on my nightstand ( it is a joy to read from ).

After I get up, it is time for breakfast, maybe some coffee and possibly back at the living room table with my Macbook for a couple of  minutes to tidy off what was left from earlier. I will usually work from here a lot during the week as well however, so I have introduced more plants for better working conditions. Last week I took the time to paint some of my pots in a neutral grey color, they now house my pileas,my new avocado trees and also this years christmas tree, which contrary to general perception it is not the cedar tree as shown here. It was much too early to shoot for the Christmas tree so I prepared it silently until it is time to make a post about it. I painted the terracotta pot from IKEA that we planted it in the same grey color as the pots above, I have to say, I love this color more and more as time goes by. Favorite cup to drink from lately, the Broste Copenhagen from Nordic Sand line.

I packed a lot of presents this week (some I wrapped early for shoots as well) but today I will finish off whatever is left, it is a good thing last ones came by mail just yesterday morning. My trusty Hay brass scissors is an accessory I cannot live without.

Next up after taking care of the gifts is some organising and cleaning up in the form of arranging things. On my list a trip to Copenhagen and Oslo in January, so excited about my new leather travel wallet from Status Anxiety (as can be seen on my Novembers wishlist ). The size is perfect,  I love the tan color and when it comes to its utility, there are many pockets to hold all essentials. It will get a lot of use in 2017 and I cannot wait to see it form a patina.

Sundays are also for visiting friends or family, having a home cooked sunday dinner or finally going to a restaurant that has been on the wishlist for a while ( any day is great for that however, depending on how busy the week can get), going for a run or a hike (this is where I capture some of the winter wonderland shots as seen on my posts here or here ),  some exercising, a movie at the movie theater, online shopping.. I guess the possibilities are quite vast, at the end I just end up doing what I feel like doing while I focus also on relaxing and enjoying my Sunday. Regardless of what I have done during the day however, come night I can be found where it all started, in bed by the candlelight.

Wonderful posts ever ?! I love the idea of paint old pots! Great way to use them again. What kind of color did you use? Is it normal wall paint? Greetingsfrom Germany and enjoy your Sunday Silke
