Today I took advantage of the beautiful natural light coming from the windows and shot some photos in the kitchen. I love soft shadows and contrasts between surfaces, and even though there are many colorful kitchens I do think a monochromatic one will almost always look more striking in photos, especially when the right materials and colors are chosen. This corner is particularly color devoid but it is hard to renovate the kitchen at this point so I am going for a less is more look. I love this particular part as there are no cupboards on the top. Although I can see the value of hiding things I think an open shelf and cupboard kitchen is so much more inviting, plus it gives you more opportunists to play around with all the things you don’t necessarily feel like hiding. So many brands now offer amazing kitchen accessories and appliances, cutlery, plates, wooden boards, tableware, I don’t see the reason in hiding them. Do you prefer hiding your kitchen accessories?
