This week I was very lucky to be invited to the Nordsjö Color of the Year 2016 where Ochre Gold was unveiled as Color of the Year! An Ochre Gold is a truly beautiful color, a gold influenced ocher found in nature, strong enough to attract attention on its own but also beautiful in combination with other shades reminiscent of natures own palette. Ochre Gold is an exciting gold-influenced color, carefully chosen from a rich palette of yellows, currently used all over the world of design. The color and the material is visible on everything from design fairs for architecture, interior design, fashion and graphic design. The photos above were taken by me in the presentation room. The old factory hosting the event was the perfect location with its great windows and ample light.

The unveiling event was held in Gothenburg in Sweden at Nääs Factories where we got information not only for the choice of the color of the year but also about the four key trends for the coming year. We got to style and photograph our own mood boards, and return home filled with inspiration and ideas about the coming year. Stay tuned for part 2 post where I reveal the color trends with more photos and part 3 where I document the trip and day of presentation!
