As you already know I love changing things around and the living room is the space I probably change the most. I have had this look for a few weeks now and it fits my mode perfectly.
It all started when I found the coziest of blankets on sale. A beautiful chunky knit on one side that is lined with fleece sheepskin on the other. It is warm and soft and it hasn’t left the couch since the day I bought it. I loved the feeling it gave so much that I decided to change some details around in order to create a warm atmosphere.
I hang wooden pendants from the ceiling from Nordic Tales and added one of their wooden frosted glass vase with some springs.
To complete the casual cozy look I layered sheepskins and candles. I chose Kahler ceramic houses because the light they emit is so soft in the afternoons and for some extra brightness when needed, their ceramic Globo candle holder in grey.
When I was planning how to create a cozy atmosphere I was careful combining not only the colors but the materials as well. Knits and sheepskins intertwined with wooden and ceramic details is a perfect combination when you want to achieve this look. Then you can easily add springs or floral details and some pale toned accessories that will enhance the look easily. For example I find my new thermo mugs from Royal Copenhagen complement the look perfectly, so much so that I didn’t want to remove them while I taking these photos. It is very important to live in the space you create, and everyday details like mugs or your laptop should not feel like they are intruding. After all they are almost a staple in your living room so instead of trying to hide them it is best to integrate them!
As a final touch I chose a Skandinavisk candle for their magical aroma and what a better choice than the green Forest. Even when it is not lit there is a subtle smell of pine and fir, aged leather and woodland around the coffee table that draws you near.
I love the new look my living room has nowadays and didn’t take too much to create it. It is amazing what rearranging and adding details will do to a space, don’t be afraid to try it yourselves!
