And it’s almost Easter again! While I am enjoying my coffee in bed looking at my favorite recipes I am contemplating Easter holidays.

This year I didn’t make it to Greece for this holiday but I am planning to next time around. I am definitely torn between Norwegian and Greek Easter. They are very similar as in it is a very family oriented holiday however the weather is so different that makes each experience truly unique.

In Greece it involves waking up early so the lamb can be prepared for roasting. In my family every year we roast a whole lamb then we eat until there is no room for dessert. The weather is so hot you can even go swimming at the sea while on the afternoons we probably go out with friends until nighttime. Very summery experience.

 In Norway thankfully they are a little more sensible on the amount of meat so a lamb’s leg is enough for a family of 6 with vegetables. Their tradition is to stuff your belly with desserts instead. Then you drag yourself on the couch to read, drink coffee and eat more desserts while you can decide if you want to see some friends later. Since the weather is still cold depending on your location skiing is a wonderful option for next day!

Talking about about Sophie’s choice here. Do I kill myself with lamb or dessert. Would I rather go swimming or skiing. I am undecided. Usually you always desire what you cannot have. However since I will be travelling back to Greece in a month and staying for several weeks while we prepare for my brothers wedding I can have my cake and eat it too. Which is why this year we decided to spend Easter in Norway. Next year it will be in Greece but something tells me I might make more than one desserts..
