First Knitting Attempts

January 17, 2014

Apparently in Norway everybody knits.

And everybody is practicing the art of DIY like a professional.

I always considered myself to be quite crafty. When I was studying in Architectural school I was always the one quickest bringing to life my ideas with innovative ways. I had to move to Norway to realize here this is the norm. And I love it. I love being surrounded by people that are so creative, so driven into making their houses and their personal life look better.

Knitting is something I have always wanted to learn.

It is very soothing on its own way and there is no better feeling than knowing you are making something that is as beautiful as useful and practical. I have the same attitude towards designing as well. I will never add an element just for the sake of decoration unless there is a reason for it to be there. I am not afraid of space, I never felt compelled to fill it. To me and many others with the same ideology in any space the void is as important as the elements that fill it. There needs to be balance to achieve beauty.

It comes as no surprise then that I would embrace knitting. So far I am quite new at this but I already love it.

Unfortunately so do Milo. I am lucky she is currently out hunting wildlife since when she is inside she insists of treating the yarn and the needles as the most exciting toy in the world.

If you have knits you would like to share please go ahead and link me in the comments I would love to see!

Hope you have a lovely weekend!
