A year of many changes.
As the last day of the year is drawing by I can’t help but look back at where I was last year this exact day.
A lot have changed and a lot have stayed the same but all changes were for the good.
On a personal level last year I was going back and forth from Greece to Norway to visit my boyfriend and stay each time from a few weeks to a few months. Now I am happy to say I can call Norway my home as I am permanently here though Greece will always be my special little nook.
As I came back each time and spend more weeks in our house, my personal taste has spread exponentially. It is a common joke that from all the furniture that were in the house when I came for the first time, the bed and a vintage chest was what survived the war I waged in this former bachelor house.
And truly it was a war that has yet to end.
From having to deal with black leather couches to awful brown wall paint that I am still trying to get rid off ( last remaining in the main bedroom ) I am happy to say that most of the renovation is going ok.
What changes did 2013 bring to my house? A year in pictures!
One of the first changes was relocating our home office from the spare bedroom downstairs to a corner in our living room upstairs. It took us several months before the office area looked decent you can see here and here how it used to look! You can see more photos of my home office in this post! Or tips on how to make your work area look better here!
I had to get rid of the black leather couches in the living room.
We got a lovely grey sofa and just a few days ago our new coffee table finally arrived! The living room is yet to be finished but it is very close so a sneak peek is in order until then! For a peek on the before you can click here!
A lot of work went on our entry as well. A whole weekend of painting but the result was well worth it. For some before photos click here , here and here. Follow this link for my full blogpost with many photos of the after!
At this point and in between baking and renovating I also had to fit in an almost month long visit back to Greece. You can check all my recipes so far here for amazing chocolate fondants or chocolate covered banana bites!
Back in Greece I got reunited with my beloved bedroom. If there is anything that I miss in Norway is the ample natual Greek daylight that makes for incredible looking interior photos!
But I made it back in time for glorious Christmas time in Norway! You only need to look at my December posts if you haven’t already for some simple Christmas tips, December purchases and other news!
And with this and that I am wrapping 2013. There is so much more to be done in 2014 and I can say I am happily looking forward to everything this new year has to bring!
Hope you had a great 2013,
looking forward to seeing you all next year!
