My Office Nook Redux

August 23, 2013

Our home office space is one of the most important places especially since more and more people choose to work from home.

If there is any advice I can give is make your home office space as cosy as possible while as efficient as possible.

While there are many rules you can follow there are two directions that need to be parallel.

1.  Start with choosing a palette of colors that suits your mood. Remember neutrals are amazing as background. I used white as my neutral and accessorized with some colorful accents.

2.  It doesn’t matter how big or small your desk might be. It is important that you have enough room under for your legs to be comfortable. On the top you need enough room for your computer essentials, whatever you use more frequently and finally enough space to spread your everyday life, coffee, phone an extra pad.

3.  Find a space for storage or art display. You might need a small commode or shelves on the wall.

4.  De-clutter as often as possible.

If your office space is a place of comfort then it will be a place you want to be even if you are moody or tired. Choose a chair you would also love reading a book in!

You can use flowers or plants all year long as long as they don’t dominate your desk. If they are too big consider putting them on the floor instead.

Mug : Hviit | Basket and Vase : IKEA | Headset : Steelseries Siberia V2  | Monitor : Benq | Mouse : Logitech | Keyboard : Logitech | Big Basket : Bohus | Lights : Hviit | Pillows : H&M Home | Desk : DYI

There are no rules when it comes to feeling comfortable it varies for each and everyone of us.

Don’t be afraid to experiment with colors and textures!
