Travel and all expenses were covered by Design Letters.
A few days ago I attended a press conference at Copenhagen for Design Letters. If you have been following my blog for a while the brand needs no introduction , you have all seen various of their products in my house and on my instagram feed. From the mugs that are adorned with the famous Arne Jacobsen hand drawn font to their stationary , I don't think I know anyone that doesn't own at least one piece of their carefully curated collection. At the press conference however I was delighted to see reproductions of some of the less known Arne Jacobsen designs ( check back soon for a full preview ) but also some of the famous products that were designed exclusively for the SAS Royal Hotel. Today I am happy to share a sneak peek of the AJ Royal Vintage Vase in pale green (as seen above in the original size). You really need nothing more than that to adorn your window with a simple leaf in or a single flower stem. Arne Jacobsen designed this specifically for the hotel, bearing in mind apart from its impeccable design and style that it would also need to be viable as a decoration for the hotel rooms that needed to hold fresh flowers but in as little quantity as possible. Brilliant isn't it? For my part I love the drop silhouette shape but also I think that the trend today is pushing towards the single flower stem rather than a whole bouquet. Who doesn't have a single glass vase adorned with a leaf petal by their bedside?
